The multi-faceted dimension of street and its people with psychological variations is the main inspiration of getting inclined towards street photography. |
What inspired you to be a photographer, especially a street photographer?
Which are your preferred places for shooting?
I love my metro city Kolkata and its the heaven for street photography as there are plenty of activities around all day long. Generally I shoot in this very city and sometimes during my travel throughout india.
What inspires you the most in street photography?
The suddenness of happenings and its psychological bonding with the photographer. What is street core photography for you? Street Core Photography nurtures the pure street art with delicacy and luckily, I have had a scope to learn a different perspective of street images being a member of this very group for past 1 year or so. Which is your workflow (post-processing if any, selection criteria, cropping, other)? I use Adobe Camera Raw and its good for my taste of outcome. I crop images if required because I want my composition of the image perfect. Beyond passion and talent, the gear also is part of the process. What do you use and why? Well, I use Canon 1200D. I believe its the photographer who takes photos , not his/her gear and hence, I like to experiment with entry level camera like I mentioned above. I use my mobile (Gionee M5 Lite) often to practice and so that my eyes get continuous training. You shoot mostly in B&W or colour? Why this choice? I shoot both in colour and B&W but lately I feel I am getting more inclined towards the black and white beacuse of its minimalistic approach as far as colour distraction is concerned. The less is more. How do you see your photography in the future. Any regrets, anything you missed? I am hopeful to present something unqiue and different from the mainstream of street photography. I still miss more than I get (smile). ________________________________ Interview conducted by Michail Moscholios on Oct. 5, 2016 |
